Pause, Breathe, Restore

“Breathing in, I calm body and mind. Breathing out, I smile. Dwelling in the present moment I know this is the only moment.”
Thich Nhat Hanh, Being Peace
Mindfulness
We can be mindful in every aspect in life. We can start in the morning with awareness of a new day. While getting ready for our day we can pay attention to how we are brushing our teeth, taking a shower, sipping our coffee or tea, to how we put on our shoes. During the day we can pay attention to how we are listening in conversation vs thinking of what our next words will be. We can stop to observe and smell the flowers. Mindfulness actions can be in every action and step of our lives. It can be learned. With practice, mindfulness can help free us from habitual, reactive patterns and promote acceptance and balance. Mindfulness empowers us. Gives us choices.
